Ryu Terui left his office with a sigh. He had just reassured his lovely Akiko that he would be alright. She said that she was coming down to the station where she was safe. He had protested but she and little Sokichi were already on the way. Ryu looked out at the gathered cops.
"As you guys may have heard yes. There is someone killing cops. Same MO each time" Ryu said to his officers.

Sitting in the station, at call from Chief Terui, Kakeru's face was grim as he listened to the chief speak. Not only did the bastard commit serial murder, but he had the gall to target the police. Kakeru was furious, but held himself back to listen to the chief. Small mistakes can lead to huge disasters, a lesson he'd learned from his father, in more ways than one.

"Now, the MO seems to be thus" Ryu said, writing on a white board. "All of the bodies had the same cause of death, a puncture wound to the heart. The weapon hasn't been yet identified. Also, coinicidence or not, all five of the cops were men. All of you have your orders and groups. Head out."
"Sir yes sir!"
As the officers exited the room Terui looked at Kakeru. "I'd like a word with you before you go out."

As Kakeru was about to head out, the chief addressed him, calling him to speak. "Yes, Chief?" He asked, curious as to why he was called out in particular.

"Kakeru, I have a special assignment for you" Ryu said, walking up next to him. The chief held up a silver necklace with a broken chain, displaying it to him. From the chain hung a stylized L in the shape of a crescent moon. Engraved in it was an Alpha. "This was found at the scene of the crime."

Kakeru looked over the necklace, eyes taking in every detail. "Looks like a symbol of some sort. Possibly for an organization the perp belongs to. I'm guessing you want me to use my...'particular skills' to look into it?"

"Yes. And you are correct. It is the religious symbol of the Chruch Of Artemis. All of its members wear them" Ryu explained. "But thats not what worries me. This is the symbol of the Luna Memory as well."

Kakeru's expression stayed rather blank, halfway between grim and composed. "Artemis? The Greek goddess? And the Luna Memory? So does that mean this church has a Gaia Memory?"

"Its very possible" Ryu said, handing the chain over. "Ask about anyone at the church who has lost a chain. Its possible that it belongs to the killer."

Kakeru took the chain, and saluted. "Yes sir Chief. I'll report in if I find anything out." He said as he wen to leave, this time out the back way.

Hopping on the Goldasher, he rode off to where the church was supposed to be, stepping up to the main door. "Well, this is the place. Guess I should head in and ask around." He said, walking in through the front door.

The inside of the church was pretty normal looking. Granted it was marked with symbols of Artemis and painted in purple hues, but still pretty normal. A brunette walked over to Kakeru to greet him.

Kakeru put on a pleasant face as the brunette greeted him. "Hi, nice to meet you. I'd found this necklace recently, and was told it had something to do with your church. I was wondering if maybe someone had lost it, since it looks rather valuable." He held up the necklace, showing it to the brunette.

Artemis (the brunette) looked down at the silver necklace. "Yes actually" she said. "This is my daugher Alicia's. It was in her purse when it was stolen" Artemis explained. "If you find the bastard who stole it let us know." Artemis extended her hand. "I'm Melanie Greyworth. I guess you could call me the preacher and owner of this establishment."
