Kakeru closed his hand around the necklace. "That's good, but I'll need to hold onto it for a few minutes more. I apologize if it's an inconvenience, but I need to make a call real quick. Do you mind if I step outside?" He said, giving a smile.

Ryu almost didn't hear his phone at first. It just joined the chorus of ringing phones as fake tips swelled in on the tip lines. It wasn't until Akiko handed it to him that he noticed.
"Hello, Cheif Terui's office" he said.

"Alright. See you in a bit, Chief." Kakeru said, closing his phone and slipping it back into his pocket, before heading back inside to speak with Artemis. "Ma'am, is your daughter available to speak? I need both you and her to come with me for a bit. Official police business. I'd prefer not to speak details in such a public place."

Kakeru waited in the main room. He could never be too careful, and he'd heard of too many cases where an officer followed someone into a back room and never walked back out. He didn't feel like that was too likely, but he didn't want to take any chances.

Artemis walked out with her teenage daughter, Alicia. She actually didn't look like a mother, but more a sister. "This is my younger daughter Alicia."
Alicia bowed to Kakeru, nearly falling over in the process. "Hi."

Kakeru bowed in turn. "A pleasure to meet you, miss Alicia. As I've informed your mother, we find what she's identified as your necklace, but due to certain circumstances, I cannot yet hand it over to you. Due to the very same circumstances, I need the both of you to come with me for a bit." He said in a manner mixing polite formality with sraightforwardness.

Kakeru walked alongside them, opening the back door of the cruiser for them. "I apologize if it's not exactly comfortable, but looking at our usual guests, it's to be expected." He said, before closing the door and going over to his bike, hopping on.
