Cecile collapsed, unable to pursue any farther. She pulled down the facemask from her mouth and panted. He got away, but she got the Memory that was her target. An old model T1; the Vampire Memory.
As she reached down to put it in one of her pouches, it went off.
"Vampire"
But nothing happened; she had no contact with it, at least. So what if it took an accidental trigger? She continued to reach for a pouch, but it was gone from her hand. It was like it just evaporated; there one moment, and then gone, but with a residual energy feeling coming around her hand.
It absorbed into her, causing her to breathe harder and faster, collapsing fully onto the ground. On the upside, it was night. On the downside, she was in the middle of the street. She pulled Fang out and converted him to Live Mode.
"Go...go get Anna," she said, "Go find Knight."
Fang ran off. Maybe he would do as told, maybe not. But now her vision faded as she lost consciousness. She wouldn't know it, but she was changing now. Already she was getting a darker look around her eyes.
