The Basics
Name: Kakeru Hoseki, though he often goes by KK
Age: 19 (Nineteen)
Sex: Male
Date Of Birth: March 3
Occupation: Last year high-school student, working on the side as a rookie cop, though he's more of a glorified paid intern at this point, not even having a badge yet.
Alignment: Neutral good, almost Lawful Good.
Theme Song: N/A ATM
Outer Stuff
Face Claim: Jun Matsumoto
Height: 5'9"
Weight 165 lbs
Hair color: Black, with blonde tips and a single silver streak on the right side.
Hair style: Long and mostly straight, though the tips curl up a bit.
Eye color: Dark brown, though each eye has a very thin layer of color between the iris and sclera, gold in the right eye, silver in the left. It's very barely visible, and you have to stare into his eyes to see it.
Skin color: Fair Japanese
Posture: Pretty lax most of the time, but very formal when on police duty (Excluding coffee runs)
Scars/ Tattoo’s/ Other markings: A small tattoo of a crown on his left wrist, and stylized fang on his right wrist.
Accessories: A pair of bangle bracelets, sterling silver with a ring of black stone on the left wrist, and gold with a ring of white stone on the right.
Clothes: Kakeru's preference for clothing suits his personality, tough and heavy duty, without being overly so. Camo cargo pants, with many narrow pockets and a few larger ones, a white t-shirt with a print, usually involving an animal of some kind, and a thick, long black jacket, rather heavy and very very durable, with a light gray hood, and lined on the inside with a few pockets shaped to carry Memories. At school, he's required to wear the uniform, which consists of either black or gray slacks, a white button-up shirt, any non-comical tie (Futo-kun is allowed, however), and a black blazer.
Anything Else? If you pay enough attention, you can notice that his nose twitches when he's trying to find anything, and his ears twitch when he's annoyed.
Personality: Kakeru's mostly your average Japanese teenager. He plays video games, hangs out at arcades, and he's got a mild interest in the fairer sex. Not to the point of actively skirt-chasing, but he's not oblivious. However, unlike other teenagers, he has a clear goal and a strong conviction set in his life. Taking inspiration from his father, a police officer who died from a gunshot wound in the line of duty, he decided he would become a police officer, and spend his life saving lives, just as his father had. Often, though, he's treated as a kid, so he rarely gets to do much aside from light training and coffee runs.
As well, Kakeru is a bit of a gourmet, taking food very seriously, often making bentos for himself and his mother, saying that "It's my duty as the man of the house to make sure you're well fed." even though he's really just wanting to look after his mother and help her out. When it comes to other people, he's friendly, but rarely goes out of his way to start conversations, preferring to let people address him if they want to speak to him. Finally, one thing that irks Kakeru is cigarette smoke, and those who smoke close to him. Not only is it unhealthy and irritating, smoking damages the taste buds, something Kakeru can not tolerate.
Motivation: Quite simply, he fights because he has the power to do so, and wants to protect the peace, no matter what. He lives his life based on the example his father set, and hopes that, when he dies, he does so after living a good life, and saving many lives. Bonus points if his death serves to save a life.
Rider Details
Rider Name: Kamen Rider GS (Pronounced Jees, like geez but with a hard S sound)
Memory Name: Gold Memory (Right slot), Silver Memory (Left slot)
Memory Appearance: Gold memory; An opaque golden-colored memory, with a golden metal designed G on the front, representing the name. | Silver Memory; Much like Gold, Silver is an opaque silver-colored Memory with a silver metal S on the front.
Memory Powers: Gold; The Gold Memory enhances the physical aspects of the user, including physical strength, movement speed, endurance, reflexes, and combat skill. However, it couldn't turn a housewife into a hitman. It has to work with something that is already there, so the user has to have at least basic skills and be at least decently strong and athletic. | Silver: On the other hand, Silver is a Memory made to adapt, and is what allows the form changes of GS to work so smoothly. Silver takes the effects of any active Memory and melds them, effectively making their use natural. This does not, however, work on Dopant Memories, as the Memories must be inserted into the same Driver. An interesting effect is that the melded Memories change the appearance of the user, their suit taking on features of the Memory, such as Wild giving a bestial appearance, or Trigger giving sniping gear.
Rider Appearance: A magnificent, glistening form, a stunning suit of silver and gold in equal parts, his arms and legs diagonally striped, his fingers alternating between silver and gold, and his torso silver, accented with large gold bars in a X pattern across his chest and back, with a gold band above and below his Driver, with a silver design of four feathered wings on the back, one wing per bar of the gold X, and a smaller silver X inside the front X. The helmet is very stylish, accented with two large crests, and is mostly silver in color, with a golden mouthpiece and gold glowing eyes showing through a semi-translucent white visor. Over the entire is a collared, pale silver cloak with a large pale golden X across the entirety, and held on with a silver chain across the gap in the front.
Driver: Trinity Driver: Kakeru's custom Driver, originally intended for his father, is a rather interesting design. It's default state looks like a metallic T made of the three Memory ports, the middle of which is backwards, set on a red background in the shape of an X. On the back is a slot, exactly in the shape of a Gaia Memory, which is where the Trinity Memory is inserted to power the Driver.Once activated and held to the waist, the metallic silver belt forms around his waist, and the Driver is spun into place, until it locks into an upside-down state. Once Gold and Silver Memories are inserted into the side Memory ports, they are pulled upwards, making the three ports resemble an arrow pointing downward, and the transformation begins. To activate a third Memory, it is inserted into the backwards center port, and the port is flipped down, causing the three ports to vaguely resemble a Y, and activating the Memory.
Weapons: N/A
Maximum Drives: Gold; Gran Gold Riser: Gold's Maximum Drive, a powerful uppercut from the right fist, glowing with golden energy: | Silver; Stunning Silver Drop: Silver's Maximum Drive, GS takes to the air, before crashing onto the foe with a powerful falling kick.
- Memory Name: Trinity
Memory Appearance: A strange, opaque red Memory, with a completely straight T on the front, the bottom pointing towards the port, and each point of the T being a different color, the side points being gold and silver, the bottom being red.
Memory Power: Seemingly useless if put into a Driver, the actual power of Trinity is that it is used to summon and power the Trinity Driver, by activating the Memory, and then inserting it into the back of the Driver.
Maximum Drive: N/A - Memory Name: Wild
Memory Appearance: A strange Memory, and one of Kakeru's only T3 types, Wild is a Memory bearing a Live Mode, allowing it to change into a functional animal form. The Memory is gray in color, with the W shaped out of stylized claws, and lies as the underbelly of the of the Live Mode, which is in the shape of a small mechanical wolf, also gray in color. When in Live mode, the face and button of the Memory are hidden by the body. When in Memory Mode, the legs fold up to the sides, the tail flips onto the back, and the Memory itself flips out where the tail was, until the Memory is inserted, then is folded back for the Live Mode body to lay on the Driver.
Memory Power: When used with the Trinity Driver, Wild causes GS's body to change, giving it a beastly visage. The legs and arms become more toned, the fingers gain claws, the feet have claws added to the front, the cloak changes into a muffler scarf, a wolven tail is added to the back of the belt, and the helmet has the biggest change, the horns getting smaller and a pair of canid ears forming on top of them, and the faceplate changing into the shape of a predatory maw. While in this form, GS's physical strength is pushed to his limit, and his fighting style becomes wild and savage, like a beast tearing apart it's prey.
Maximum Drive: Howling Wild Rush: GS Wild's Maximum Drive, GS dashes at the foe, knocking them into the air, before jumping up after them and repeatedly slashing and kicking at them, aiming to tear them apart. - Memory Name: Bounce
Memory Appearance: A strange Memory, and Kakeru's other T3 type, Bounce is a Memory bearing a Live Mode, allowing it to change into a functional animal form. The Memory is beige in color, with a fluffy B on the front, and lies as the underbelly of the of the Live Mode, which is in the shape of a small mechanical bunny, beige in color as well. As with Wild, the face and button of the Memory lie hidden in Live Mode. When in Memory Mode, the limbs fold up on the side, and the tail is pushed like a button to make the Memory flip out just below the tail, and when inserted, the body is folded onto the Driver.
Memory Power: When used with the Trinity Driver, Bounce causes GS's body to change, giving it the visage of a champion boxer, as well as a large bipedal rabbit. This strange combination is actually rather efficient, giving GS incredibly enhanced speed and reflexes, as well as drastically increasing punch force via the addition of a pair of gloves resembling a mix of gauntlets and boxing gloves. Despite the power and efficiency of the form, Kakeru very much dislikes using it, because he finds it a very "unmanly, non-badass" form. However, whenever he tries to object to it, the Bounce Memory kicks him in the face repeatedly until he submits. Aside from the gloves, the physical changes include the slimming of the horns and addition of a pair of rabbit ears, a slimming of the body, the addition of a little bunny tail, gold bandage wrappings on the hands and feet (Under the gloves), and changing the cloak into a boxing coat, which is actually removed and dropped just before the fight starts proper. When fighting with Bounce, his style is much like boxing, with a heavy emphasis on footwork and quick, short hits.
Maximum Drive: Bouncing Bang-up: GS Bounce's Maximum Drive, GS quickly moves in on the foe, using steady footwork to avoid being hit, and looses an absolute storm of punches from both arms into the foe, moving at incredibly intense speeds. - Memory Name: Crystal
Memory Appearance: A light crystalline blue Memory, with a crystal C on the front.
Memory Power: Crystal is an interesting Memory. When activated, it creates a blank handle, called the Crystal Hilt, which has a slot in the base to fit another Memory. When a Memory is inserted into the slot, the Crystal Hilt changes form to suit the Memory. Included with it were eight Gem Memories, which are designed solely for the purpose of powering the Crystal Hilt, and therefore are unusable for transformation by any person, and are fairly useless without the Crystal Hilt. When the Crystal Memory is used in the Trinity Driver, crystalline spaulders are added to shoulders, as well as crystalline "leylines" ringed around the wrists and ankles, and crossed on the chest, in the center of the gold X. Depending on the Gem Memory used, the crystalline additions will change in color to match, and even become very smooth for Pearl and Obsidian.
Maximum Drive: Crystal Jab: A bit of a joke move, the Crystal Hilt is thrust into the enemy's stomach, doing very little damage but knocking them back about 25 feet. - Memory Name: Ruby
Memory Appearance: A crystalline red Memory, with a red crystal R on the front.
Memory Power: The first Gem Memory, element of Fire. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes form, splitting into two and changing into a pair of gauntlets, called the Ruby Knuckles, which can freely produce flames, and the ornate designs of which are constantly burning hot. When the Ruby Knuckles are active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to bright ruby red, like a burning flame.
Maximum Drive: Ruby Rocket Punch: Ruby's Maximum Drive, a straight Rider Punch engulfed in flames, very simple, but very effective. - Memory Name: Sapphire
Memory Appearance: A crystalline blue Memory, with a blue crystal S on the front.
Memory Power: The second Gem Memory, element of Water. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes into an entirely different hilt, which is in fact the handle of the Sapphire whip, which produces whips of condensed and focused water, held in shape by the Memory's power. When the Sapphire Whip is active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to deep sapphire blue, like a deep ocean.
Maximum Drive: Sapphire Aqua Bind: Sapphire's Maximum Drive, which uses the fluid water from the handle to encapsulate the foe in an orb of water, preventing escape. Depending on the foe, this could be merely a binding, it could be a temporary hold to knock them out, or it could be instantly destructive, making it quite versatile. - Memory Name: Emerald
Memory Appearance: A crystalline green Memory, with a red crystal E on the front.
Memory Power: The third Gem Memory, element of Wind. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes not into the weapon itself, but rather the case, creating a case on his left hip filled with nine throwing knives, the Emerald Arrows, with twenty more floating ambiently around him. So long as one knife remain in the case, the rest case be freely controlled using the Emerald Memory's wind, giving them remarkable range and accuracy. When the Emerald Arrows are active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to a vibrant emerald green, like a leaf on the wind.
Maximum Drive: Emerald Slashing Hurricane: Emerald's Maximum Drive, which has the floating knives surround the target, then, combined with slicing gale-force winds, tear and slash at the foe in a tornado of emerald gales. - Memory Name: Garnet
Memory Appearance: A crystalline dark crimson Memory, with a crimson crystal G on the front.
Memory Power: The fourth Gem Memory, element of Earth. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes into a pile bunker, called the Garnet Breaker. When in use, there is a handle inside the front-most raised section, and the second raised section with the gap wraps around the forearm just before the elbow, and a strap forms to hold it on. Fitting it's element, the Garnet Smasher is quite simple in use, as the narrow pole/bar, referred to as the "pile", is pulled completely back in active position, and shoots forward at incredulous speed when triggered, the sheer momentum giving it incredible destructive force. However, due to it's design, it has little versatility, making it purely a weapon of power. When the Garnet Breaker is active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to deep garnet crimson, like dark stone of the earth.
Maximum Drive: Garnet Gaia Crasher: Garnet's Maximum Drive, comprised of charging an insanely high amount of power and energy into the pile, before slamming the entire burst of power into the foe. - Memory Name: Topaz
Memory Appearance: A crystalline yellow Memory, with a yellow crystal T on the front.
Memory Power: The fifth Gem Memory, element of Lightning. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes into a lance, constantly crackling with electricity, called the Topaz Lancer. The dragon-like end is made for piercing and sweeping slashes, whereas the cross-like end is made for jabs and quick swipes. When the Topaz Lancer is active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to shimmering topaz yellow, like a current of strong electricity.
Maximum Drive: Topaz Titan Shocker: Topaz's Maximum Drive, a deadly piercing thrust infused with an extreme amount of electricity. Simple, but very effective. - Memory Name: Aquamarine
Memory Appearance: A crystalline cyan Memory, with a cyan crystal A on the front.
Memory Power: The sixth Gem Memory, element of Ice. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes into a large, freezing cold greatsword, called the Aquamarine Slasher. At first glance, it appears to be an average greatsword, aside from its blue color, but in truth, the blade is made of incredibly solid and incredibly cold ice, and can reform if damaged. Damage done by the blade is compounded of slashing, crushing, and freezing damages. When the Aquamarine Slasher is active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to clear aquamarine cyan, like shards of pure arctic ice.
Maximum Drive: Aquamarine Arctic Zone: Aquamarine's Maximum Drive, the blade is thrust into the ground, causing a spread of sharp, spear-like ice crystals to sprout up fiercely from the ground, slashing and freeing anything within the 30 meter(diameter) circle radius of the attack. - Memory Name: Pearl
Memory Appearance: A pale, pearlescent white Memory, with a pearlescent white P on the front.
Memory Power: The seventh Gem Memory, element of Light. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes into a pearly, reflective white kite shield, called the Pearl Defenser. Seemingly plain and nearly useless, the true power of the Pearl Defenser lies in it's ability to completely deflect any direct, non-melee attack, often reflecting them right back at the attacker. Otherwise, it acts much like any other shield, and of course can only defend what it covers. When the Pearl Defenser is active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to opaque pearlescent white, and become smooth, like a beautiful pearl in the daylight.
Maximum Drive: Pearl Shining Beam: Pearl's Maximum Drive, a very strange technique for a shield, the surface begins to shine, before firing a powerful beam of the same size and shape as the shield. - Memory Name: Obsidian
Memory Appearance: A shimmering, opaque black Memory, with a black crystal O on the front.
Memory Power: The eighth Gem Memory, element of Darkness. When inserted into the Crystal Hilt, the hilt changes into a black bladed katana, complete with sheath, called the Obsidian Edge. A sinister looking weapon that gives off an aura of darkness, the Obsidian Edge is wielded with a mix of Iaido and Battojutsu, making good use of the sheath, and has an extremely, molecularly thin edge, which is very smooth and sharp down to an atomic level, allowing it to make impossibly clean cuts and easily slice through nearly anything. In addition, due to the Obsidian Memory's darkness element, anything cut by the blade begins to burn with a pitch-black fire that gives off no heat, simply causing immense pain, and if not removed quickly, begins to spread and eventually engulf the victim. When the Obsidian Edge is active, the crystal additions to the GS suit change from pale blue to opaque midnight black, like staring into the blackest void of darkness itself.
Maximum Drive: Obsidian Ougi; Narakugiri (Obsidian Special Technique; Hell Slash): Obsidian's Maximum Drive, a very stylishly executed Iaido-style Rider Slash, in which GS sheathes the blade, pooling the dark energy into it, and then draws it and slashes the foe in a single sweep, instantly engulfing them in the black flame and creating a pain unbearable by any being capable of feeling even the slightest feeling of touch.
Other Equipment:
- Goldasher: GS's signature motorcycle. Ironically, it is actually silver in color, not gold.
- Tazer: As Kakeru is still just a rookie, not having a badge or a gun yet, but needs some means to defend himself (since they don't know about Kakeru being GS), Kakeru was given a standard-issue tazer of the close range stun-gun variety. (No wires.)
- Cell phone: Being a teenager, of course Kakeru has a cell phone, his being a pretty simple black flip phone with a small Futo-kun charm.
- Handcuffs: In addition to the tazer, Kakeru was supplied three pairs of handcuffs, which he tends to keep on him at all times.
History
A story nineteen years in the making, and just to reach chapter one. But first, the prologue of the prologue, ten years before we truly begin. The Futo police force had just recruited a rookie, fresh out of high school at age nineteen, and had no real hopes for him. He showed potential, but his personality was a bit brash and distant. This young rookie was Ryuza Hoseki, who, despite his inexperience and attitude, would turn out to be a very successful member of the police force, a deductive genius and brilliant tactician, leading to the conviction of many criminals. By the time he was twenty-five, he'd already become the most prominent member of the force by far, and was even assigned his own secretary, a twenty-one year old young woman by the name of Kessho Yamano. Rather unsurprisingly, this turned into love at first sight for Ryuza, who was immediately enraptured with the lovely young woman. Before long, the two started dating, and within a year, they were engaged.
Things were going well for Ryuza, until one day, he got a mysterious letter from an anonymous sender, labelled only as "The Jeweler". In the letter was written "Prodigal hero Ryuza, jewel of the Futo Police. Good day. I sent this as a warning to you. Soon, there will be cases that even the best police officers are unable to solve. When this happens, you will be sent a gift to allow you, who I have chosen as the fitting user, to do what the rest of the force cannot. If you accept this, make a recording of your voice, yelling the words 'Gold' and 'Silver', and leave the recording on a flash drive or a disc, in a white box, at the base of Futo Tower. I will take this as both compliance and payment. However, you are to let nobody know of this, regardless of circumstance. Ciao."Ryuza found the letter very strange, but, after much thought, felt there was a definite feeling of truth from the words, and did what was written for him to do. Afterwards, he merely continued to go about his life, not receiving the package in the four years following, and eventually forgetting all about it after the second great event of his life occurred. A child was born, his son. He named the child Kakeru, stating a hope that he would "Soar to the top, and shine like a diamond." This is where our next prologue begins.
The child, Kakeru, grew well, showing a good bit of promise with his schoolwork, and being rather active in sports. He was very acrobatic, astounding the school's coaches and basically guaranteeing his entry into Futo High to be an easy one. In class, he was a bit of an airhead, but always had great test scores. However, he didn't really care about any of it. He seemed distant, having few friends and often sitting alone on the roof for lunch, but he never seemed unhappy. The ones who knew him could tell you that he wasn't being rude or avoiding them, but rather, he was focused on something. But he never told any of them. It wasn't until he started high school that things changed. On what was supposed to be a simple arrest of a cyber-criminal, Ryuza decided to fly solo, not wanting the department to waste resources on such a case. This turned out to be a bad decision, as Ryuza hadn't expected the perp to be armed, and was taken by surprise when the man pulled a gun and shot him in the head. It wasn't until the next day that the force got worried, and went to discover what had occurred. When his family was informed, it was a shock, but Kakeru wasn't angry or resentful. In fact, he was proud. His father had died honorably in the line of duty, after leading a good life. It inspired Kakeru, and fueled his resolve to live his life as his father had. He pleaded with the chief of police to let him join the force, and, after two years of training, was allowed to become a member, though he was deemed too inexperienced to carry a badge or a firearm.
Soon after Kakeru was inducted as a rookie officer, a package arrived, addressed to Ryuza, with no return address, only two words in the space. "The Jeweler." When Kakeru arrived home after school, his mother, who had long since retired from the force, handed him the package, telling him that, as the man of the house in the absence of his father, the package belonged to him. Taking it to his room, he opened the heavy box. Inside were two steal suitcases, bearing the letters GS in bold black print. Taking them out and opening the cases, one contained a red device identified by the instruction sheet as the Trinity Driver, as well as the red Trinity Memory, and in the other was a set of eleven Gaia Memories; Gold, Silver, Crystal, and the eight Gem Memories. Taped to the bottom of the box was a letter, addressed to Kakeru himself. Opening it, he began to read the very precise, yet elegant handwriting. "Young Kakeru, prodigal son of the prodigal hero. This gift was originally to be given to your father, Ryuza, but unfortunately he passed before he could receive it. As you have proven that you bear the same qualities as he had, I have deemed fit for you to accept it in his stead. This gift shall grant you the power to fight the evils of this world, the villains the police can't even touch. Take it in hand, and become a hero. I wish you luck, and you shall hear from me again." So begins Chapter One of our little story. Won't you stick around to see how it turns out?
